Have you been to www.destinychurch.com in the last 30 days?
Tonight Pastor Mike is going to be talking about "The Authority of the Believer". If you have questions on this topic just enter it here and it will be sent anonymously to him. He may be able to answer your question tonight or on his blog (www.mikegoolsbay.com).
In the Old Testament, the only one who had any authority over the demonic was God.

9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”Our authority begins with understanding the power that has been delegated to us as believers.

19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Hebrews 2:7-8 NIV
7 You made him a little lower than the angels;you crowned him with glory and honor
8 and put everything under his feet.”In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.
Using that authority means that we consciously recognize the power behind that authority.

11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. When a person receives Jesus they have a new relationship with GOD, a new destination, and a new authority.

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest placeand gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
In the name of Jesus is where we have our authority.

18 “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will bebound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.19 “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”
